About Us
The purpose of the Department of Recreation Management is to train qualified human resources equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge at a level that can contribute to the development of tourism and who are proficient in foreign languages, enabling them to work as mid- and upper-level managers in tourism and recreation enterprises. The department also aims to carry out studies that will contribute to the development of recreation management in Türkiye on both national and regional scales. It seeks to address existing issues related to recreation management, lead its development process, raise public awareness, and promote social consciousness.
Courses to be taken within the Recreation Management program include, for example, Introduction to Recreation, Recreation Management, General Tourism, Management and Organization, and Recreational Area Design.
Graduates of the Recreation Management program will have the opportunity to work as mid- and upper-level managers in recreation enterprises such as theme parks and fitness clubs. They may also be employed as managers in hotels, travel agencies, and tourism enterprises that organize congresses and fairs. Those who achieve the required score on the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) may work in public institutions. Successful graduates who meet the necessary criteria can pursue academic careers in relevant university programs.
Today, as people seek to escape the stress caused by urbanization and work life, they tend to engage in recreational activities that allow them to refresh and rejuvenate themselves during their leisure time. With the growing demand for recreation activities—including entertainment, hobbies, arts, social, cultural, scientific, sports, and nature-based activities—the need for qualified personnel in the sector is increasing. Graduates of the Recreation Management program, equipped with strong managerial and entrepreneurial skills, will be able to contribute significantly to the development of tourism and recreation management.
